The Great Sherubtse College

From 2013 on, Sherubtse RUB has started a policy so in-take at least 700 student. The total comprises of students with excellent marks, the average (in between good and worst), the self-funding, the Kedu students (which I believe is the best thing to do to ones who are left isolated in the society due to their financial or family issue) and the scholars (irrespective of good or bad, the one who holds the title of school captain claims this opportunity). Well these are the category that the Sherubtsean see through to your marks if you are looking for the doorway to Sherubtse. It’s very kind of Sherubtse RUB that they are summoning lots of fresh faces at once. If a company is producing million goods a day but all they sell is one per day, then that company will totally break down. That’s exactly the scenario of this divine college. No infrastructure but more student is what exactly happening here in the Sherubtse. Father Mackey never in his dream would have seen this coming. Around 300 heads leaves the college and it is refilled by 300+300+100 heads. It is more than double. It concerns me and every student who really are concern about the college’s future.

Catch 22 - Addiction

Brazilian world cup was really exciting for every individual Bhutanese. Especially it had total effect in Sherubtseans. About 200 students would be watching an ugly decade old TV set box. The curious student leaders could setup projector in the opening match of FIFA World Cup. I say that they did so because they had a slight adrenaline rush that night. But in average, it was the best time I ever had in front of TV. My hostel is always known for best cooperation and helping hand in any situation. We did lot for the 32 participating countries each contributing 50 bucks. First would get 1000 bucks and 600 to the runners-up. Well Germany won and ironically, mine was Australia.

College Flip

Every morning I wake up and we repeat the same drill that are in the subconscious part of my brain. I wake up and scan around if anyone is studying or using time productively. If they do, I do too because I don’t want to be left out. Nothing personal, not jealousy or hunt down someone academically. I’m just afraid for myself. I’m afraid that I might be down looked by my friends if I fetch low score. I flip few pages and see if there anything I should keep in mind or throw it out of my memory. After that I go brush, wash up and prepare for breakfast and class together.

On the way I meet lots of hot opposite sexes whom I wish to acquaint (not reallyL). When I enter the class, sometimes my mind flip and direct me to going someplace quiet and serene, but I have never changed my direction when I’m about reach my destination. Even if there is risk involved, I make sure I take it or do it. I remember playing volleyball, and assisting team to take over the game when there was rare hope of winning. At the end I concluded: never turn your back on your nearest future because it is never always deleterious. When time comes, our energy or boost of adrenalin can influence a team or even larger group. All we have to do is to make sure that it gives a clear constructive result.

Water

Anything soft overcomes hard substances. A person with high temper (hard-core) trying to solve problem in violent manner may overcome the situation but it won’t satisfy others opinion. Perhaps, he will not be liked by people. If he is made to argue with a soft -core man he will surely use his way of solving the problem diplomatically; he will be successful in quenching others opinion and he will triumph the argument. It is exactly analogous to pouring water over rock. The rock will never stop the flow of water instead, water will overcome it. Either it will escape through crevices or it will escape as vapour. It is common practice that a person having patience always have good personality while the person with no patience are usually chatty or, violent, less social and has bad attitude. Soft substances are always epitomized and indispensable.

Water constitutes 80% of human body and we can say that human are another form of water. Saying so, what we can do is that we should act like water. We should be soft and overcome any hard obstacle with soft and positive state of mind. If this much is done, there is no need of violence and war. Peace will overtake all the dark time.
