From 2013 on, Sherubtse RUB has started a policy so in-take
at least 700 student. The total comprises of students with excellent marks, the
average (in between good and worst), the self-funding, the Kedu students (which
I believe is the best thing to do to ones who are left isolated in the society
due to their financial or family issue) and the scholars (irrespective of good
or bad, the one who holds the title of school captain claims this opportunity).
Well these are the category that the Sherubtsean see through to your marks if
you are looking for the doorway to Sherubtse. It’s very kind of Sherubtse RUB
that they are summoning lots of fresh faces at once. If a company is producing
million goods a day but all they sell is one per day, then that company will
totally break down. That’s exactly the scenario of this divine college. No
infrastructure but more student is what exactly happening here in the
Sherubtse. Father Mackey never in his dream would have seen this coming. Around
300 heads leaves the college and it is refilled by 300+300+100 heads. It is
more than double. It concerns me and every student who really are concern about
the college’s future.
Student has no problem with the strength joining the college
but it is the accommodation and the facility we are deprived of. A room that
accommodated 2 is compulsorily made to ingest another 2. A TV room is also made
bedroom for around 10-12 innocent students and I have been the victim of it. Once
we were told that new buildings (few hostels and few classrooms that can
accommodate at least 60-90 students) will be built and work would start as fast
as possible. But the construction sites are still clear, instead, it is now
thickly covered by bushes. And it is serving as good “Ad-da” for the druggists.
Someone comes in the assembly and talks about the plan to construct this and
that but nothing turns up. We are made happy with so many promises for about
one hour and we keep waiting for it to come in action, until we become 6th
semester oldL.
The four girl hostels are in upper market are short of water supply for so long and it concerns
me who is buying the water. Why no one is concerned about it? We have budget
and man power but why doesn’t the budget get allocated in right place?
We are made to live a life of
school hostel in this college, which in my school times teachers told me will
be best life ever (I hope it’s really happening in other college but not where
I am studying). Now I have different meaning of college: “a college (only in
Sherubtse) is a place where teachers are just graduated (as far as about 2-3
years senior) and uses ONLY projector to teach”. But there are some teachers
who are still very dedicated and use all the methods to teach their students. College
has got enough budget to purchase CC TV (hope these gadget can stand the
weather of Sherubtse) and hang it in every placed possible (even The White
House might not have that much camera everywhere) and they have no budget to
get certain for those classes that uses projector.
When the high school like Bajo HSS has the 24 hour of WiFi
internet facility and we can access it even from the toilet, Sherubtse is still
counting on to the dark shadow of library. I heard few boys tried putting up a
proposal for internet with the additional skim for the college that those group
of boys will manage the modem and router. But the college administration didn't
buy it. They say student will stop coming to class (what an explanation). It is
not the administration’s problem to see is I fail because I myself know that
failing is not my option. We are concerned about our own life. We all have so
far made it till college and it is us who are going to work hard and get
ourselves a degree certificate. You know what, students are given internet facilities not by college but by Bhutan Telecom and our college is really stressing on putting Druknet WiFi. But i ask the administration we are in this college with scholarship and why are they not providing us the facility that we ought to be getting? Every colleges has and why not us?!
I have written this article with the aid of ideas of many
individual and it’s nothing to offend the college but I believe that if one
man’s voice can change the mass, I can die for it to make this particular
college best. I talk with my friends about the college’s revolving status and
they say the same thing. We know everything can’t be made perfect but we can
always strive for the excellence. However, Sherubtse has the best weather to
live in. If college developmental fund gets rightly use in the right place
(without reinventing the wheel) college is the best place to live. I wish Aam
Naten Zam comes in Sherubtse and enjoys the weather. But all our college heads are best.
good bro...u r really helping us to claim what we deserve...keep writing!!
ReplyDeletewhow! the aforementioned is alys true at sherubtse where the luxuries of stds are snatched away by the college administration. we are compelled to adjust with ltds facilities as we did in higher secondary school, it means that we will neva gt to explore more in life. the common voice of our seniors,"u entered to the college as rat but u have to leave college as mts" will neva come true, when there is little access to WIFI 8 college, the effective learning will neva tak place....I MIND U!
